1. What BudgetTrips is
BudgetTrips.app (“the Service”) is a travel planning tool that estimates all-in trip costs — flights, hotels, daily spend, and optional car rental — so you can compare destinations against a fixed budget. We are operated by Josh Hottin (“we,” “us,” “our”).
2. Estimates, not guarantees
All prices shown on BudgetTrips are estimates. Flight prices are sourced from third-party travel APIs and change in real time. Hotel rates are estimates based on market data. Daily spend figures are averages and will vary based on your habits. Final prices are always set by the booking provider (Aviasales, Hotellook, DiscoverCars, or similar), and BudgetTrips is not responsible for price discrepancies at checkout.
3. Affiliate relationships
BudgetTrips earns affiliate commissions when you click booking links and complete a purchase. This commission is paid by the booking provider — it does not affect the price you pay. We are affiliates of Travelpayouts (Aviasales, Hotellook) and DiscoverCars. Our estimates and rankings are not influenced by commission rates.
4. Pro subscription
The optional Pro plan is billed monthly at $4.99/month via Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months. We reserve the right to change Pro pricing with 30 days’ notice to active subscribers.
5. User accounts
Accounts are created via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that misuse the Service, attempt to scrape data at scale, or violate these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BudgetTrips to: (a) scrape or systematically download content; (b) reverse-engineer the pricing model; (c) attempt to circumvent Pro gating; or (d) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for travel decisions made based on our estimates. Always verify prices directly with the booking provider before purchasing.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudgetTrips shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to travel losses, booking errors, or price changes.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be announced via email to registered users.
